Dan Lively, owner of Alternative Ag., LLC. said he strongly believes in the medical benefits of cannabis and strives to provide quality products right here in southeastern Oklahoma.

“I’ve always believed in marijuana’s healing powers and I have seen it first hand,” he said. “Before SQ788 passed I made multiple trips to the capitol in support and as soon as it passed my family and I began building this business together here in Wilburton.”

Lively said 2A is a family business and never in a million years did he think he would be growing cannabis with his mother,

“It is really cool that I can grow pot with my family - I never thought I would be growing pot with my mom,” Lively said laughing.

Lively added his brother helps provide legal advice and Daniel's wife, Tasha Lively, runs the software and handles compliance, as well as, helps during harvest.

“It’s 100 percent a family business,” he said. "I wouldn't be able to do all of this without them."

2A is an organic farm that does not use pesticides.

“We mainly use lady bugs and nematodes to control pests,” Daniel said. “We give every plant individual attention and it gives it that small maw and paw feel.”

Daniel said it is important to him to get feedback on all of 2A’s products, so he decided to put his personal cell phone number on all of 2A's packaging.

“I receive around 40 phones calls a week of questions and comments,” Daniel said. “I can't fix something unless I know it's broken."

Daniel said 2A is currently growing and experimenting with over 50 different genetics.

“We really enjoy working with the Gorilla family strains,” he said. “We will always have something from the Gorilla family such as our Gorilla Glue Cookies and Private Reserve.”

Slurrican and Blueberry Dragonfire are some other strains you can look forward to seeing soon, he added.

Daniel said a lot of 2A's genetics come from Sub Cool; such as Vanilla Tart, Queen Anne’s Revenge and Doggone Sour.

“I am a firm believer in the genetic side of things, we use Sub Cool because they never cut corners when they create a new strain,” Lively said.

Daniel said 2A is also a licensed processor under the brand Shatter Jax.

“Here in about a year we will be offering RSO, full spectrum, oils and syringes,” Lively said. “Distillate is an affordable and easy way to medicate and RSO is more medically beneficial. It has everything the plant has to offer."

Daniel said he plans to continue working with Buds Craft Cannabis in building a cannabis community here in southeastern Oklahoma.“

(Owner of Buds Craft Cannabis )and I have been friends for years,” Daniel said. “He has always been a good guy with a heart of gold. Anybody that meets him becomes best friends with him and that’s the kind of people I like to be around.”

Alternative Ag and Shatter Jax continue to grow and Daniel said he is continuously working hard to offer cannabis products at an affordable price.

“I think if you are fair with people they are always going to want to do business with you,” Lively said. “I would like to see all the prices come down so we will all be able to give a good price to the patients who need it.”
